Here for sale we have a Gibson Memphis ES-Les Paul Hollow Body Electric Bass in Gold Top finish. Made in the USA in 2015, this bass consists of a 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple Laminate Hollow body, a Mahogany neck, and a 20-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Tune-o-Matic bridge, Stopbar tailpiece, Hipshot tuners, and a set of Dual Custom Humbucking pickups. These pickups are wired to independent volume and tone controls, as well as three-way pickup selector.
The Mahogany neck pays very well, with the 'Rounded C' profile filling the hand nicely for a confidence-inspiring and comfortable grip in all registers. The 30.2" scale length is shorter than traditional for an electric bass, and is favoured by players with smaller hands or guitarists moonlighting as bass players. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Pleasant under the fingers, the 12" fingerboard radius is as practical for a wide range of styles and playing techniques. The smooth and compact lines of the Semi-Hollow Les Paul body are supremely comfortable in the arms, ensuring that playing for extended periods is a breeze in both standing and seated positions.
The pair of Gibson humbuckers installed in the Memphis ES-Les Paul Bass deliver powerful, full-bodied bass tones that will add serious depth to any band's sound. The Custom humbucker in the neck position drives the sound, offering a warm yet accurate bass response and punchy mids. The Custom Humbucker in the bridge position captures the bright overtones, allowing you to cut through the mix very effectively, helping you to create a percussive and rhythmic sound for the rest of the band to lock in with. Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles, as is common on gloss finishes. The rear face top edge displays light chipping to the finish, revealing the wood beneath slightly.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck displays light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles, as is common on gloss finishes. None of these hairline scratches are substantial enough to be felt by the hand in playing position or by the fingertip upon inspection. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern.
Body: Overall very good condition. The body demonstrates light scratching and scuff marks throughout, none of which have removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath. Notable spots of nitro burn are present to the bottom of the side face, either side of the strap button, from resting on a stand. A small white scuff mark is present to the lower bout, near the jack socket.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.
Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. Mild tarnishing is present to the pickup covers, bridge and tailpiece.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
