Here for sale we have a Gibson Made 2 Measure Nick Lucas 13-Fret Bob Dylan Spec Acoustic Guitar in Antique Natural Finish. The Gibson Custom Shop were commissioned to build five of these guitars by The Fellowship of Acoustics in 2023 to the exact specifications of Bob Dylan's 1930s Gibson Nick Lucas. Dylan's original Nick Lucas Guitar unfortunately did not survive during his 1966 tour of Australia. Dylan kept his harmonicas loose in the case with his guitar, and this resulted in the top being damaged beyond repair. Since then, nothing has been heard of his original Nick Lucas guitar.
 
Purpose built with Dylan's specs in the USA in 2023, this guitar features a Solid Sitka Spruce top, Solid Rosewood back and sides, a Mahogany neck, and a 20-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include an 'Antique Natural' finish, a Guild bridge, a Martin pickguard, Fleur-de-Lis inlays, and a Black/Cream Rosette. The guitar also sports a set of Three-On-A-Plate tuners, and a Rosewood bridge.
 
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the 'C' profile filling the hand for a substantial yet articulate grip across the register. The 12" fingerboard makes for a smooth and versatile playing experience. The Rosewood of the fingerboard provides a tactile and pleasant playing surface under the fingers. The Mother of Pearl Fleur-de-Lis inlays add a touch of luxury to the playing experience whilst ensuring easily legible navigation of the register. 
 
The voice of the Nick Lucas is pure and focused which works excellently for fingerpicking and single-line flat picking, small body guitars are hugely popular in studios due to their ability to sit in a mix without dominating too much space. There is plenty of brightness provided by the Sitka Spruce top along with a surprisingly wide dynamic range for such a small body. The all-solid construction ensures a lively and resonant sensation in the arms, really rewarding soft playing. Overall an excellent guitar, great for all sorts of genres but particularly excelling in finger picking and solo guitar styles.
