Here for sale we have a Gibson Les Paul '100' Studio in Manhattan Midnight finish. Made in the USA in 2015, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Flamed Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Satin nickel hardware is fitted including a StopBar tailpiece & Nashville ToM bridge, as well as a set of GeForce automatic tuning machines with Tulip buttons. A pair of Gibson passive humbucking pickups are installed, with a '57 Classic in the neck position & a '57 Classic Plus in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch & independent volume & tone controls, with push/pull volume pots which split the coils.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the SlimTaper profile feeling slender in the hand without being too thin. There is a nicely flattened area to the centre rear which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning & facilitates technical playing. The traditional 12" fingerboard radius strikes the perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and smooth lead lines, making for a truly authentic yet refined Les Paul playing experience. The addition of the G-Force robotic tuning machines ensures that tuning is fast and effortless, with alternative tunings ready to play at the touch of a button.
The pair of Gibson '57 Classic humbuckers in this guitar offer warm and rich tones, exactly as you would expect from a Les Paul. The neck position is thick and creamy, saturating beautifully into full-bodied distortion as you crank the gain. The bridge position is as bright and biting as you could ever need, helping you to cut through any mix with your rock rhythm tones. Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The top treble side front corner demonstrates a small chip to the finish, revealing the wood beneath. Further, lighter chipping is present at the treble side front edge near the G tuner. The top rear edge shows very light scuffing. The front face demonstrates very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates a moderate scratch behind the third fret to the treble side of the profile, piercing the finish slightly. Similar indentations can be identified surrounding this, to a lesser degree.
Body: Overall very good condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching and indentations that do not pierce the finish. This is most consistent between the pickups and the treble side waist, and along the lower bout of the rear face. A more notable scratch is present near the control cavity where the finish is slightly pierced.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
