Here for sale we have a Gibson Gary Moore Signature Les Paul BFG in Lemon Burst finish. Made in the USA in 2009, this is the second signature model Gibson produced with Gary, and is closely related to the earlier BFG series. BFG stands for 'Barely Finished Guitar', and the series really lived up to that name with the CNC Textured maple top, direct mount pickups, no fingerboard inlays & lack of gloss nitro finish. This Gary Moore Signature takes this stripped back approach and brings it closer to the look of Gary's other iconic guitars.
Naturally featuring a set-neck construction, this instrument comprises a Chambered Mahogany body with CNC Textured Maple top, Mahogany neck & 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a Stopbar tailpiece, Nashville ToM bridge & locking Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. Gibson Burstbucker 3 zebra-coil humbucker is installed in the bridge, along with a Gibson Classic P90 in the neck position. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, independent volume controls & a master tone, as well as a kill switch.
The ‘50s Rounded profile neck specifically chosen by Gary Moore feels fast and easy to manoeuvre, with help from the natural finish. The 'shoulders' of the profile certainly feel broader than some modern Gibson profiles, and this makes for a vintage-inspired feel without being at all cumbersome. The ‘played in’ feel of this neck provides a sense of familiarity to the playing experience which feels very inspiring in the hands. The 12” Rosewood fretboard feels smooth under the fingers when playing, and assists with fluid navigation of the 24.75" scale. The traditional 12" radius works in conjunction with the large fret size to ensure that string bending & vibrato techniques are very well accommodated.
The uncovered Burstbucker 3 in the bridge delivers a clear and responsive tone, providing each note with a crystal like quality which works well with both chords and lead lines. The P-90 is warm with a high output, meaning it’s a great pickup to drive an amp and deliver distorted tones, yet still cleaning up nicely when rolling the volume down, perfect for ‘That’ Parisienne walkways tone. The chambered body compliments this well, providing the guitar with a nice resonance both acoustically & amplified. The kill switch is a nice added touch, allowing the player to cut the signal with the flick of a switch for some seriously cool stuttering effects. Paired with the independent volume controls & master tone, it's easy to dial in your perfect tone right on the guitar.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
