Here for sale we have a Gibson ES-345 in Vintage Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2023, this guitar is the updated mainline version of the ES-345, which no longer has a Varitone switch as previous versions and historic reissues do. Instead, the Modern ES-345 features several visual refinements over the standard ES-335 such as the split parallelogram inlays & multi-stripe purfling, alongside a hand-wired control assembly with Orange Drop capacitors. This version became the standard ES-345 in 2020.

Of course featuring a semi-hollow set-neck construction, this guitar comprises a Laminated Maple/Poplar/Maple body with a Maple centre block, Mahogany neck & 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted including a StopBar tailpiece, ABR-1 bridge & Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with 'Tulip' buttons. A pair of Gibson Calibrated T-Type humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch & independent volume & tone controls.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the Rounded ‘C’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and offers an articulate and responsive playing experience in all registers. The Gloss finish to the rear of the neck ensures that navigation of the 24.75" scale is an effortless affair, whilst the Rosewood fingerboard provides a pleasant and luxurious surface for the fingers. The 12" fingerboard radius is traditional for Gibson, and strikes the perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending. The smooth lines of the body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, whilst the semi-hollow construction keeps the weight down and produces a resonant and lively playing experience.

Amplified, the pair of Gibson Calibrated T-Type humbuckers work in conjunction with the semi-hollow construction to deliver the full and thick sounds that we all expect from Gibson. The guitar resonates beautifully, filling out the sound with a deep and rich character. The neck pickup is warm and round, and can handle plenty of gain meaning you can achieve anything from jazzy lines through to soaring rock and blues solo tones. The bridge pickup is hotter, driving the front end of an amp with ease and producing the bright, biting tones that cut right through the mix to put your playing front and centre. The traditional dual humbucker control layout feels very responsive, allowing you to explore a wide tonal palette right on the instrument.
