Here for sale we have a Gibson ES-175-D in Blonde Natural finish. Made in the USA in 1988, This instrument features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Maple body, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Nickel hardware including a Rosewood-mounted Tune-O-Matic bridge and Trapeze tailpiece. The tuning machines are Nickel plated Gibson Deluxe, with Tulip buttons. This instrument is equipped with a pair of Gibson Tim Shaw PAF humbucking pickups which are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume & tone controls.
The Mahogany neck plays exceptionally well. The profile is very comfortable, and could be described as a 'Soft C' shape which provides easy reach across the fretboard in all registers. This works in tandem with the 12" fingerboard radius to make jazzy chord voicings and smooth lines feel like a breezy and effortless affair. The single Florentine cutaway body design improves access to the upper register, meaning you can make use of all 20 frets. The shapely lines of the body feel great in the arms and with the arched top and back feel very comfortable in both standing and seated positions.
When plugging the ES-175 in, it's very easy to see why it's favoured by jazz players around the world. The tone is warm and round but also clear and articulate, chiming with a quality that is spacious and airy while also being distinct and bell-like. Lightly rolling down the volume and tone controls allows the guitar to ring through with its characteristic clarity and warmth, providing a richness that is sought after by many. The Laminated construction also makes this guitar resistant to feedback at high volumes, meaning that it is perfect for live situations.

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top edge demonstrates light indentation and chipping to the corners, revealing the wood beneath. The front face demonstrates light yet consistent scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. The edges of the front face, more notably to the treble side, demonstrates chipping to the clear coat where it would meet a guitar hanger or stand. Light lacquer checking is present to the front face, this is common with nitrocellulose lacquer experiencing different temperatures over years.
Neck: Overall very good condition, lateral markings and scratching is present throughout the register of fingerboard, these can not be felt in the playing position. Light indentation is apparent in the early register consistent with standard playwear. The rear of the neck demonstrates very light markings infrequently throughout the register, not felt under the thumb.
Body: Overall very good condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. The joint from the heel of the neck to the body demonstrates some finish cracking, typical of these instruments and not affecting structure.
Condition of Frets:
The frets show moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Flattening of the frets is noticeable through the entire register. There is moderate material remaining for any future fretwork.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.
Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear, most notably to the pickup covers where oxidation is present from regular use in a high contact area from over the years. The bridge leans forward but functions and intonates correctly not affecting playability. The pickguard displays mild scratching, this is consistent with regular use in a high contact area.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
