Here for sale we have a Fylde Goodfellow Acoustic Guitar in Natural Gloss finish. Handmade in the UK since 1973, Fylde Guitars are the product of luthier Roger Bucknall's passion, experience and fine eye for detail. These instruments can be found in the hands of some of the world's most highly regarded acoustic artists, from Ken Nicol to Gordon Giltrap. The Goodfellow is a popular model, and has a body shape most commonly resembling a Parlour. This example was crafted in 2001, and comprises a Solid Mahogany back and sides and Solid Cedar top. The neck is made using Mahogany and features an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. Other features include a zero fret nut and sealed Made in Japan tuners.
The Soft ‘V’ shaped neck profile is an absolute joy to play, being carved into a moderately sized shape which is neither too thick or slim. The ‘V’ shape allows for a supremely comfortable grip, with the thumb sitting ergonomically behind the neck granting fluid movement up and down the neck. The Rosewood fingerboard provides a luxuriously smooth playing surface. This example has been refretted with stainless steel frets, ensuring solid playability for years to come. The thin finish applied to the rear of the neck is almost akin to a matte feel, allowing the hand to glide effortlessly across the entire register.
The strong yet light materials used to craft this guitar combined with the thin finish results in a rich and resonant tone, with the tonewood combination of Cedar and Mahogany offering an overall warmth to the more delicate voicing of the Parlour body shape. All in all this guitar would make for a fantastic addition to the collection of any blues or country player thanks to its articulate sound, which manages to accentuate the bassier notes which can often be a little underwhelming in smaller bodied guitars.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
