Fender Roadhouse Stratocaster 3-Colour Sunburst 1998 Electric Guitar
Here for sale we have a Fender Roadhouse Stratocaster in 3-Colour Sunburst. Featuring a bolt-on construction this guitar consists of an Alder body, Maple neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include vintage style tuning machines and 2-point tremolo. A trio of Texas Special single-coil pickups are fitted and wired to a 5-way pickup selector, master volume, neck tone and middle tone controls.
 
The Maple neck plays very well, with Fender’s popular 'C' profile filling the hand nicely for a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The satin finish to the rear is pleasant to the touch and assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5” scale, whilst the traditional 9.5” fingerboard radius remains as practical as ever. Medium Jumbo frets enhance the feel of vibrato and string bending techniques whilst reducing the amount of pressure required to fret notes, delivering rock-solid feel and a fast articulate playing experience.  
 
The trio of Texas Special Strat Single-Coil pickups installed in this guitar deliver hot Texas blues tones in spades. The neck is round and smooth whilst still producing enough power to blast your bluesy licks right to the front of the mix. The middle and bridge pickups are each brighter, with classic funky sounds in the middle and searing Fender ‘twang’ in the bridge.

    Aesthetic Condition:

    Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates some discoloration surrounding the bushings for the machineheads. The edges of the headstock demonstrate light to moderate indentation, particularly to the top edge where one indentation chips the finish revealing the wood beneath.

    Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates finish delamination typical for Fender instruments of this era. The finish has been sanded back, revealing the wood beneath as to resolve the issue. The fingerboard demonstrates moderate playwear in the early register, difficult to discern against the natural grain and not felt under the string.

    Body: Overall good condition, the front face appears to have been sanded back to a satin finish. The sides and rear remain gloss. The bass and treble side edges of the lower bout have been sanded to reveal the wood beneath. The bottom edges demonstrate consistent indentation and chipping, revealing the wood beneath. Similar chipping is apparent to the bass and treble side cutaways which is visible from the front face. Consistent indentation piercing the finish is apparent across the rear face.

     

    Condition of Frets:

    The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with some slight flattening of the crowns in the early register. It is apparent that a fret level and re-crown was performed at some point to a professional standard, maintaining excellent playability. There is moderate material remaining for future fret work.

     

    Current Set Up:

    Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (1/8" hex) not included.

    Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of use. The pickguard has been replaced, original pickguard and backplate included. No backplate is currently fitted.

     

    Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

     

    Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
