Here for sale we have a Fender MIJ ST-62 Electric Guitar in Vintage White finish. Made in Japan between 1991-1992, this guitar consists of a Basswood body, a Maple neck, and a 21-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Vintage style 6 screw bridge, vintage-style tuners, and a set of three Fender Japan Strat Single-Coil pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, tone 1, tone 2, and a five-way pickup selector.

The Maple neck plays extraordinarily well, with the 'Oval Type' profile feeling somewhat like a slim 'C' shape, offering comfortable playability and easy reach across the register. Certainly, the neck will feel familiar to those used to Fenders' Modern 'C' profile. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, providing a smooth and durable playing surface. With a traditional 9.5" radius, the playing surface is well equipped for string bending and fast lead techniques whilst remaining practical for chordal playing. The smooth lines of the Stratocaster body are as comfortable in the arms as ever, reducing fatigue on long gigs and practice sessions.

Amplified, all of the vintage-inspired Stratocaster tones we expect are present and correct. The neck position is warm and round without being too soft; working very well for lead tones. The middle position is punchy and clear, perfect for funky rhythm parts. The bridge is of course brighter, easily cutting through the mix with crunchy rock rhythms and riffs. The traditional Stratocaster controls are as versatile and comprehensive as you could hope for, allowing you to dial in the perfect tone for almost any musical situation. A typically well-made Japanese instrument with some enhanced visual touches to make it stand out from the crowd.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to the edges of the headstock, the most noticeable of these can be seen to the treble side edge of the front face lightly exposing the wood beneath.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. A light indentation is present to the neck of the neck behind the nut, this can be felt under the fingers but does not expose the wood. Very light scratching can be seen across the rear of the neck with the most noticeable being seen to the treble side of the end of the neck, these can only be seen under direct light.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body display light to moderate indentation and chipping of the finish, this is most noticeable to the treble side of the neck pocket, lower bout bass and treble side edges, some of these have exposed the wood beneath the finish. Light lacquer cracks can be seen to both sides of the neck pocket and to the front face of the bridge, these do not affect the structure of the instrument.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is apparent from the early register to the middle of the register, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
