Here for sale we have a modified Fender Made in Japan Traditional '60s Stratocaster in Lake Placid Blue finish. Fender Japan's Traditional series fuses the traditional look & feel of Fender's instruments with Japanese craftsmanship & subtle playability updates such as the slightly narrower nut width & 'U' shape neck profile. Of course made in Japan in 2020, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Basswood body, Maple neck & 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel Chrome hardware is fitted including a 6-point vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge & vintage-style split-post tuning machines. A trio of single-coil pickups are installed with Fender vintage-style Strat single-coils in the neck & bridge positions & a Fender '61 vintage reissue RWRP in the middle position. These are wired to a 5-wqay blade switch, master volume, neck tone & bridge tone controls.
The Maple neck plays very well, with the 'U' shape profile offering a smooth & responsive playing experience across the register. Refreshing amongst the ubiquitous Modern 'C' profile, the shoulders feel slightly wider in the hand, alongside a slightly flattened area to the centre rear which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning. The Rosewood of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth & durable playing surface to explore. With a 9.5" radius & vintage-style frets, the playing experience is vintage-inspired without being too slavish to vintage specifications.
The trio of Fender single-coil pickups deliver traditional Stratocaster tones by the bucketload. With the tasteful modification of a '61 Vintage RWRP pickup in the middle, any phase issues are taken care of, meaning you get plenty of power to push your playing to the front of the mix. The neck is nice and round, perfect for melodic passages & solos. The bridge is bright & clear, working beautifully for rock & blues rhythm sounds, whilst driving the amp harder produces a saturated distortion. The middle is smooth & 'quacky' which works very well for funky rhythm tones.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
