Here for sale we have a Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster in Black finish. Made in Mexico in 2015, this guitar is designed as a tribute to the great man, and features several Hendrix inspired appointments with both practical and aesthetic benefits, along with some modern refinements. Loosely based on several of Jimi's Strats, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck with reverse headstock and 21 fret Maple fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo bridge and Vintage-Style Split-Post tuning machines. A trio of aftermarket Kinman 'Hendrix Woodstock set' single-coil pickups are fitted, with two AVn69 in the neck and middle, and a HX-85b with a reverse angle in the bridge position. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck tone and bridge tone controls.
The Maple neck plays very well, with the 'C' shape profile filling the hand nicely and offering a smooth and rounded surface for those Hendrix style 'thumb over the top' blues licks. The 9.5" radius is flatter than the 7.25" boards that Jimi would have played, and provides a more practical surface for bends and fast lead lines. This is enhanced by the Medium Jumbo frets; a modern refinement that assists with vibrato and string bending techniques. The reverse headstock is more than just an aesthetic touch, as it increases the tension on the bass strings for a tighter and more responsive playing experience on those strings, whilst the string tree helps with tuning stability.
The trio of Kinman Hendrix Woodstock pickups installed in this guitar deliver clear and precise tones, perfect for recreating the warm and shimmery tones found on Little Wing and Castles Made of Sand. There is plenty of gain to be teased from the pickups too; driving the amp pushes the sound into a saturated distortion with screaming overtones, right on the edge of howling feedback. The reversed bridge pickup offers enhanced upper harmonics, helping you to cut through the mix with ease. The modified vintage Strat wiring allows for a unique voice in position 2 when rolling down the bridge tone, split between the bridge and middle. A fantastic tribute to the Stratocaster's greatest player, with plenty of scope for unique sounds.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition. Very light indentations and scratching are present to all aspects of the headstock, these can only be seen under very close scrutiny under direct light.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to the fingerboard in the early register, these have lightly pierced the finish but cannot be felt in the playing position. Very light indentations are present to the rear of the neck, scattered throughout the register. These are not felt in the playing position and do not impact playability.
Body: Overall very good condition. Light to mild indentation and scratching is scattered inconsistently around the body. This is most notable to the front face at the centre of the lower bout where the finish is lightly pierced but does not expose the wood. Some milder indentation and cracking of the finish is present at the bass side edge of the lower bout. At the bass side of the pickguard the body shows mild scratching consistent with playwear.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (3/16" hex) not included.
Hardware: Overall very good condition. Mild tarnishing and oxidation can be seen to the bridge plate and saddles. Light to mild scratching to the pickguard is consistent with playwear, and is only seen under direct light. Tremolo arm included.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm

Electrics:
Fully functional. A previous owner has replaced the original pickups with a set of Kinman Hendrix Woodstock single-coils, with a pair of Kinman AVn69 in the neck and middle positions and an HX-85b in the bridge position. The original pickups are not included. The wiring layout has also been changed so that the tone controls operate the neck and bridge pickups, with no tone control on the middle pickup. The pickguard and cavity have been shielded with copper to a very good standard.
