Here for sale we have a Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe Electric Bass Guitar in Olympic White finish. Made in Mexico in 2000, this bass is an early example of Fender's American Deluxe series basses, and features several aesthetic and functional refinements over the Standard series. Naturally, a bolt-on construction is employed, and comprises an Alder body, Graphite reinforced Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a String-Through Body/Toploading Deluxe bridge and Fender Deluxe open-geared tuning machines. A pair of Fender 'New Design' J-Bass humbucking pickups are installed, which can be thought of as early noiseless pickups. These are wired to an active on-board preamp with controls for master volume, 3 band boost/cut EQ and a pickup pan.
The Maple neck plays very well, with its ‘C’ profile feeling slim and responsive making for an efficient playing experience, whilst the fifth string is super easy to fret thanks to the slim easy to grip neck. The Gloss finish to the rear of the neck feels pleasing under the thumb and enhances transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cut design of the body makes for great access to the higher register. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and its 9.5” radius this neck offers an authentic Fender playing experience.
Amplified, the pair of Fender 'New Design' J-Bass pickups deliver thick and full bodied bass tones, with plenty of deep lows and a driving mid range that is sure to lay a solid foundation in any mix. The middle position is of course nicely round and warm, whilst the bridge position is bright and spanky, perfectly capturing all of the attack and sparkle from your playing. The on-board active preamp provides comprehensive control of your sound right on the instrument, with a pickup pan control and 2-band EQ allowing you to blend into any musical situation -or indeed stand out when you want to. A fabulously preserved example of an early Jazz Bass Deluxe in a striking rare finish.

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top edges demonstrate consistent light to moderate indentation, piercing the finish in places. This continues to a lesser degree around the perimeter of the headstock. The rear face demonstrates some moderate indentation towards the serial number and the treble side corner, piercing the finish. All aspects demonstrate light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.
Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates consistent light indentation throughout the register. This can be somewhat discerned beneath the thumb but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. The fingerboard demonstrates some scratching running along the fret lengths, likely from dressing or other previous fret work. This cannot be felt beneath the string and does not affect playability.
Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates moderate indentation and scratching, most notably to the bass side lower bout. The sides and edges demonstrate consistent moderate indentation, particularly on the bottom edge and surrounding the jack socket plate. Light finish cracking is apparent to both corners of the neck pocket, not affecting the structural stability. This is common with bolt on neck construction. The rear face demonstrates consistent light scratching and indentation, piercing the finish in places.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, with some indentations in the early frets and flattening of the crowns throughout. This does not affect playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.
