Here for sale we have an absolutely stunning Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Stratocaster in Faded Fiesta Red Journeyman Relic finish. This guitar was crafted in the USA by Fender's finest luthiers in 2018, and as part of the Postmodern series 'cherry picks' the best features from the Stratocasters' 70 year history for an instrument with player-focussed sonic and ergonomic features. Naturally, a bolt-on construction is employed, which comprises an Alder body, Quartersawn Maple neck and 21 fret Round Laminated 'AAA' Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel/Chrome hardware is fitted including an American Vintage 6-point tremolo bridge and Vintage Split-Post sealed tuning machines. A trio of Radioshop RS1 Black 1 single-coil pickups are installed, with the middle position being RWRP. These are loaded onto an Eggshell pickguard and wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck/middle tone and bridge tone controls. 
 
The Quartersawn Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the '60s Style Oval 'C' Shape offering an incredibly comfortable playing surface across the entire register. Certainly, the neck is substantial enough to sustain a firm grip for chords, whilst remaining slim enough for fast, articulate playing. The relic work to the rear of the neck simulates years of playwear, leaving a large section without lacquer which is supremely smooth and comfortable in the hand. The 'AAA' Rosewood fingerboard has a rich and deep dark hue, with a lovely tight grain that ensures the surface is both comfortable and durable. The 9.5"-12" compound radius is a modern feature which provides comfort for chord playing in the lower register, transitioning smoothly to a flatter surface in the upper register for lead playing. 
 
The trio of Radioshop RS Black 1 single-coil pickups installed in this guitar are nothing short of incredible. They deliver a crystal clarity that is unlike any other pickup. The warmth and roundness of the neck pickup retains its typical 'Strat' character whilst also offering a glass-like purity. The middle pickup is a similar story of the 'typical strat sound' that you might expect, but with a level of refinement that elevates it beyond what anyone could reasonably hope for. The bridge pickup is bright and twangy, with a higher output that drives the amp beautifully, whilst retaining clarity and control that is not so common with Strat bridge pickups. This is an absolutely stunning instrument that beautifully exemplifies why the Fender Custom Shop is the absolute pinnacle of electric guitar building.
