Here for sale we have an incredible Limited Edition Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop. Made in 2018 in a limited run for the NAMM show, this gorgeous Strat ticks all the 'dream guitar' boxes. Based on the 1960 Stratocaster specification, this Ltd Edition model features several refinements which make it that bit extra-special & exclusive. Naturally a bolt-on construction is employed and comprises an Alder body, Roasted Quartersawn Maple neck & 21 fret 'AAA' Slab Rosewood fingerboard. Aged Nickel hardware is fitted including an American Vintage 6-point tremolo bridge, Vintage-style split-post tuning machines, along with a Bone nut. A trio of Custom Shop Hand Wound Ancho Poblano Strat single-coil pickups are installed with a reverse-wound, reverse-polarity middle pickup for reduced noise. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume. neck/middle tone and bridge tone controls. 
 
The Roasted Quartersawn Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the '60s Style Oval 'C' Shape offering an incredibly comfortable playing surface across the entire register. Certainly, the neck is substantial enough to sustain a firm grip for chords, whilst remaining slim enough for fast, articulate playing. The Roasted Maple is absolutely stunning in appearance and with its nitrocellulose finish adds a real sense of mojo to an already opulent playing experience. The 'AAA' Rosewood fingerboard has a rich and deep dark hue, with a lovely tight grain that ensures the surface is both comfortable and durable. The 12" radius & Medium Jumbo frets are modern touches which make the instrument more practical for fast lead playing and big string bends. 
 
The trio of Fender Custom Shop Hand Wound Ancho Poblano Single-Coil pickups installed in this guitar are nothing short of incredible. They deliver a crystal clarity that is unlike any other pickup. The warmth and roundness of the neck pickup retains its typical 'Strat' character whilst also offering a glass-like purity. The middle pickup is a similar story of the 'typical strat sound' that you might expect, but with a level of refinement that elevates it beyond what anyone could reasonably hope for. The bridge pickup is bright and twangy, with a higher output that drives the amp beautifully, whilst retaining clarity and control that is not so common with Strat bridge pickups. This is an absolutely stunning instrument that beautifully exemplifies why the Fender Custom Shop is the absolute pinnacle of electric guitar building.
