Here for sale we have an absolutely magnificent Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition '52 Telecaster Closet Classic in Faded Nocaster Blonde Closet Classic finish. Crafted in the USA by Fenders' finest luthiers in 2019, this guitar is based on the 1952 Telecaster specification, and has been aged to the 'Closet Classic' standard. This offers a vintage appeal, showcasing moderate finish checking, hardware oxidation and mild discoloration to represent a well-taken care of original '50s instrument. 
 
Naturally a bolt-on construction is employed, and comprises an Ash body, Rift Sawn Maple neck and 21 fret Maple fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted, including a '51-'54 style Telecaster bridge with 'Ashtray' cover and vintage-style split-post tuning machines. A pair of Fender Custom Shop hand-wound Loaded '51 Nocaster single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls. 
 
The Maple neck plays very well, with the '52 Style 'U' profile filling the hand for a substantial grip, whilst still managing to steer clear of 'baseball bat' territory. Certainly the neck is larger than Fender's more modern profiles, ensuring a suitably vintage-inspired playing experience across the register. The profile could be described as a 'D' shape, with its lightly flattened area to the centre promoting ergonomic thumb positioning. The 9.5" fingerboard radius is a small deviation from the vintage specification which adds modern practicality to an otherwise fastidious reproduction of the original. 
 
Amplified, the pair of Custom Shop hand-wound '21 Nocaster single-coil pickups deliver beautifully clear and precise tones that are quintessential Telecaster whilst also providing some Custom Shop refinement. The neck pickup is warm and round, with plenty of power for driving your solo tones to the front of the mix. The bridge pickup is always the main event in a Telecaster, and this particular one does not disappoint. Plenty of bright Telecaster 'Twang' is present, and with a nice high output, the pickup can push your amp into a gritty and raw distortion. The controls are nice and responsive, allowing you to dial in your perfect sound right on the guitar. An absolute beauty of a Telecaster that exemplifies why the Fender Custom Shop is the cream of the crop.
