Here for sale we have an absolutely beautiful Fender Custom Shop 1964 Stratocaster Heavy Relic in Candy Apple Red finish. Made in the USA by Fender's finest luthiers in 2019, this gorgeous Strat ticks all the 'dream guitar' boxes. Based on the 1964 Stratocaster specification, this model features several refinements which make it that bit extra-special & exclusive. Naturally a bolt-on construction is employed and comprises an Alder body, Maple neck & 21 fret 'AAA' Slab Rosewood fingerboard, inlaid with large 7mm Mother of Pearl dots. Aged Nickel hardware is fitted including an American Vintage 6-point tremolo bridge, Vintage-style split-post tuning machines, along with a Bone nut. A trio of Custom Shop '65 Strat Relic Single-Coil pickups are installed, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume. neck/middle tone and bridge tone controls.
The Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the '65 Strat 'C' profile offering an incredibly comfortable playing surface across the entire register. Certainly, the neck is substantial enough to sustain a firm grip for chords, whilst remaining slim enough for fast, articulate playing. The Maple is absolutely stunning in appearance and with its nitrocellulose finish adds a real sense of mojo to an already opulent playing experience. The 'AAA' Rosewood fingerboard has a rich and deep hue, with a lovely tight grain that ensures the surface is both comfortable and durable. The 9.5" radius & Narrow Tall frets are modern touches which make the instrument more practical for fast lead playing and big string bends without compromising on the vintage flavour of the instrument.
The trio of Fender Custom Shop '65 Strat Single-Coil pickups installed in this guitar are nothing short of incredible. They deliver a crystal clarity that is unlike any other pickup. The warmth and roundness of the neck pickup retains its typical 'Strat' character whilst also offering a glass-like purity. The middle pickup is a similar story of the 'typical strat sound' that you might expect, but with a level of refinement that elevates it beyond what anyone could reasonably hope for. The bridge pickup is bright and twangy, with a higher output that drives the amp beautifully, whilst retaining clarity and control that is not so common with Strat bridge pickups. This is an absolutely stunning instrument that beautifully exemplifies why the Fender Custom Shop is the absolute pinnacle of electric guitar building.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the headstock from the factory relic.
Neck: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the rear of the neck from the factory relic. The fingerboard demonstrates some light playwear in the early register, difficult to discern from the natural grain of the rosewood.
Body: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the body from the factory relic.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (flathead driver) not included.
Hardware: The back plate has a very light crack at one of the screwholes. It is difficult to discern any other wear from the factory aged hardware.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
