Here for sale we have a Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster Electric Guitar in Butterscotch Blonde finish. Made in the USA in 2002, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Premium Ash body, Maple neck and 21-fret Maple fingerboard. Other appointments include Fender Vintage-Style tuners, a 3-barrel brass saddle ashtray bridge, and a set of aftermarket Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Telecaster single-coil pickups. These are wired to a 3-way blade switch, master volume & master tone controls.
Fender's Vintage line was initially released in 1982, in some respects to improve the reputation of poor quality that Fender had been becoming known for during the '70s under CBS' ownership. The series harked back to what was viewed as Fender's heyday, and was successful in improving player's view of the brand's quality. After Fender was sold by CBS in 1985, there was a short hiatus in production of the model whilst FMIC set up their new factory. In 1998, the series was updated with new models added. This 2nd generation is the one that this left handed example comes from, being made in 2002.
The 'U' shape neck profile is comfortable in the hand, and delivers a playing experience which is suitably vintage-inspired. In conjunction with the traditional 7.25" radius and vintage-style frets, it has to be said that the neck feels akin to many genuine vintage Teles; substantial and dependable without feeling cumbersome. The Premium Ash body adds a certain heft to the instrument which improves the sense of authentic vintage-feel that this instrument exudes - not to mention the attractive grain peeping through the Blonde finish.
This guitar has been fitted with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Telecaster single-coil pickups. This is one of Seymour Duncan's most popular Telecaster sets, and use overwound coils & alnico V magnets to deliver a powerful output. The tone produced is vintage flavoured whilst adding a new, more modern dimension which works well in a wide variety of contexts- increasing the amount of gain that can be handled while retaining a mellow overall sound. That said, the bridge pickup can be dialled in aggressively for a tone that will cut through any mix with ease.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates some flaking/chipping of the Fender Decal. Some light to mild scratching is present around the tuning posts. The bass side corner closest to the nut demonstrates a moderate indentation piercing the finish. Further lighter indentations can be identified to the perimeter of the headstock.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The fingerboard demonstrates several patches of wear that have revealed the maple beneath. Some of these are newer than others and demonstrate different stages of discoloration. Similar wear can be identified to the center rear of the profile. Throughout the register of the fingerboard, finish has been dented and chipped along the length of each fret, likely due to a level and re-crown performed previously. None of these markings are felt in the playing position and do not impact playability.
Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate consistent light scratching, visible only under direct lighting at certain angles, consistent with the use of high grit sandpaper. The front face demonstrates an 'X' shaped scratch beside the control plate, piercing the finish. Further indentation can be identified along the lower bout, occasionally piercing the finish. The rear edges on both treble and bass side waist, along with the front face bass side lower bout edge, have been sanded back to reveal the wood beneath. Similar indentation to the front face can be identified across the rear lower bout. The overall look of the body is consistent with playwear, only revealing the sanding marks when inspected closely.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, with some flattening of the crowns throughout the register. There is a moderate amount of material remaining for future fret work.
