Here for sale we have a Fender American Standard Stratocaster in 3-Color Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2004, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, a Maple neck and 22 fret Maple fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted, including a 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge and a set of Fender Deluxe Staggered tuning machines. A trio of American Standard Stratocaster single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck tone and middle/bridge tone controls.

The Maple neck plays very well, with the Modern ‘C’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning in all registers. The Satin finish to the rear feels smooth whilst providing an articulate playing experience. The Maple fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and offers a tactile and durable playing surface, with the 9.5" radius working in conjunction with the Medium Jumbo frets to produce a rock solid playing surface which is practical for string bending, vibrato techniques and complex chord voicings alike.

The Fender American Standard Stratocaster Single-Coils pickups deliver all the classic Stratocaster tones that you could wish for. The bridge pickup provides bright and glistening trebles with plenty of spank, Power chords and riffs sound gritty, whilst lead tones are crisp and clear. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone. The middle pickup produces bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones. The neck pickup is round and powerful, great for chordal phrasings or quick jazz style lines, whilst also handling higher gain settings masterfully.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light indentations to all aspects of the headstock is most notable at the top rear edge where the wood is lightly exposed.Light cracking of the lacquer is present to the rear face, as is common with Fender guitars of this era.

Neck: Overall good condition. At the bass side edge of the fingerboard at the first fret a crack has been repaired to an acceptable standard. The repair is sound and presents no structural concerns, however the seams can be felt under the thumb. Moderate chipping and cracking of the lacquer finish is present to both the fingerboard and rear of the neck consistent with a well played instrument of this age. The most notable chipping can be felt in the playing position but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. The lacquer has lightly delaminated throughout, causing hazing/discoloration of the finish which is most notable at the inlays, side dots & fret ends. A mild indentation to the rear of the neck behind the 5th fret can be lightly felt in the playing position.

Body: Overall very good condition. Light to mild chipping of the finish is scattered consistently around the edges and rear face. In places this pierces the finish, most notably at the treble side lower bout near the output jack and rear edge of the upper horn. All aspects of the body display light to mild scratching which can be seen under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the rear case consistent with playwear.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

    Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (1/8" hex) not included.

Hardware: Very good condition. The back plate is missing. The pickguard has discolored over time, and a ‘shadow’ is present where stickers were previously applied.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
