Here for sale we have a Fender American Series Jazz Bass in Natural finish. Built in the USA in 2000, this bass features a bolt-on construction comprising an Ash body, Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard has been modified with block inlays for a striking look. The hardware featured on this bass consists of a Fender 4-saddle HiMass Vintage bridge with string-through-body stringing. A set of Fender Vintage-Paddle tuning machines. A pair of Fender American Series Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups are installed and are wired to a bridge volume, middle volume and master tone controls.
The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the ‘C’ profile allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning, whilst the Gloss finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck. The Maple fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers, whilst the 9.5” radius and Medium jumbo frets allow for ease of different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The double cutaway and contoured body design allows the player unobstructed access to the entire register, whilst also making longer durations of playing a comfortable experience.
The Fender American Series Jazz Bass pickups deliver classic original-era tone and power, with a hotter output for unmistakable punch and midrange growl. Built with alnico 5 magnets for true vintage tone, the pickups deliver deep, warm and rounded low ends that work well with the clear, precise mids and glistening trebles. Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light scuffing, scratching and indentations. Along the edges of the headstock, particularly the top edge, consistent indentation causes a chipping of the finish. Some light scuffing is apparent to the treble side of the headstock.
Neck: Overall good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates finish cracking and delamination, as is common with Fender finishes used in the 90's and early 2000's. Light to moderate indentation is apparent throughout the register of both the rear of the neck and the fingerboard, some of these can be felt beneath the fingers. Chipping of the clear coat is apparent at the fret ends throughout the register, with a more notable chip piercing the finish at the treble side of the 9th fret. The fingerboard inlays have been replaced with block inlays. This work has been performed to an acceptable standard, with several inlays (most notably the 9th) slightly askew and the inlay edges aren't perfectly level with the surrounding fingerboard.
Body: Overall good condition. The front face demonstrates a notable chip to the finish on the bass side lower bout edge. This is approximately 2 inches in size and reveals the bare wood beneath. The finish surrounding this has cracked. A similar, smaller, chip is apparent to the bottom edge, approximately 1 inch in size. At the lower edge of the front face near the jack socket, a section of finish has delaminated, leaving a section appearing lighter in colour and less glossy. All aspects of the body demonstrate consistent light to moderate scratching and indentation, some of these piercing the finish.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. 3 ply white pickguard included.
