Here for sale we have a Faith Jupiter jumbo acoustic guitar in Satin Natural finish. Made in Indonesia in c.2005, this guitar features an all solid construction comprising a Spruce top, Mahogany back & sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound in Maple, whilst the fingerboard is inlaid with MoP diamonds. The headstock is overlaid with Rosewood, and is fitted with Gold sealed tuning machines with Amber buttons.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a 'C' shape. This offers comfortable playability & a smooth & responsive experience across the register. The Rosewood of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers and provides a durable playing surface to explore. We have measured the radius of the fingerboard to 7.25", which is notably round for an instrument of this style. We suspect that the guitar has had a refret and re-radiusing of the fretboard. Certainly unusual for an acoustic, it's a refreshing playing experience that's supremely comfortable for chord playing.
The acoustic voice of the Faith Jupiter is big and powerful thanks to its stature as a Jumbo. There is plenty of volume & dynamic range on offer, and the instrument feels responsive to the touch thanks to the all-solid construction. The Spruce top certainly projects well, and adds plenty of brightness & sparkle to the tone. The Mahogany back & sides provide a warmth which permeates every note. At over 20 years old, the timber is now well-seasoned and has taken on a more mellow tone than it would originally have had - something which many manufacturers these days emulate with torrefied woods. A unique instrument with plenty of character & charm.
