Here for sale we have a very special EVH Wolfgang USA electric guitar in Transparent Amber finish. EVH guitars was launched in 2007 with the clear and single mission of putting Eddie Van Halen's tools and equipment into the hands of his fans and guitar players looking for the ultra-speedy and precision focussed ethos that Eddie's guitars adhere to. The Wolfgang was the original model that launched the EVH brand, having been named for Eddie's son and combining his years of experience and expertise into one high-performance package.

Made in the USA in 2010, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Basswood body with 5A Quilted Maple top, Quartersawn Maple neck and 22 fret Birdseye Maple fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including an EVH-Branded Floyd Rose double locking tremolo system with an EVH D-Tuna, and a set of EVH-Branded Gotoh sealed tuning machines with Pearloid buttons. A pair of Direct-Mount EVH Wolfgang USA passive humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way reverse pickup selector, low friction master volume control with treble bleed circuit and high friction Bourns master tone control.

The Quartersawn Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the Wolfgang Backshape profile providing a smooth, responsive and precise playing experience across the register. The Oil finish to the rear of the neck ensures a smooth and supple feel in the hand whilst assisting with navigation of the 25.5" scale. The Birdseye Maple of the fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers, adding a real sense of opulence to the instrument. The 12"-16" radius is rounder in the lower register and flatter as you climb the neck, ensuring that the playing experience is tailored to the needs of the musician in all registers. The Vintage Stainless Steel frets make a nice change from the Jumbos usually found on instruments of this type, whilst being made of Stainless Steel ensures that they will remain rock-solid and wear-free for longer.

The pair of Direct-Mount EVH wolfgang USA passive humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, well suited to the hard rock, shred and guitar acrobatic style that Eddie was renowned for. The pickup selector is reversed, meaning that the bridge position is selected when the switch is up, just as Eddie preferred. The neck position is round and powerful, and retains plenty of clarity and precision for searing lead lines and solos. The bridge position is of course brighter and with a high output is powerful enough to drive your amp into a saturated distortion tone for rhythm parts and riffing. The controls are kept simple, with some extra refinement in the form of high and low friction pots with a treble bleed circuit. This means you can easily dial in your perfect tone right on the instrument.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Very light scuffing and indentation to the bass side tip of the headstock is visible under close scrutiny.

Neck: Overall very good condition. Both the neck and the fingerboard display very light discoloration as is common with open pore finishes and regular use. This is most notable to the rear of the neck in the early register where the oil finish has worn away slightly.

Body: Overall very good condition. A light indentation to the treble side waist of the front face has very lightly pierced the finish. Further indentations which do not pierce the finish are present to the bottom edge of the rear face. Mild to moderate scratching of the rear face is consistent with buckle rash. Light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the treble side waist of the front face consistent with playwear.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

    Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (spoke wheel) not included.

Hardware: Overall very good condition. The sleeve for the tremolo arm has chipped leaving a sharp edge. The tremolo arm still fits and locks in as expected. The saddles at the bass side of the bridge display tarnishing and oxidation consistent with regular use in a high contact area. The rear cavity covers display mild scratching consistent with buckle rash. The washers around the neck bolts show light oxidation/wear consistent with playwear. Tremolo arm and D-tuna included.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
