Here for sale we have an ESP Standard Series M-I NTB electric guitar in Satin Black finish. ESP or Electric Sound Products was founded in Tokyo in 1975 as a shop providing custom replacement parts for guitars. As the popularity of their work grew they began producing instruments, eventually entering the US market around 1983. Around 1985 George Lynch discovered the brand, and commissioned them to build what became the famous ESP Kamikaze. ESP found fame through the endorsements of popular players, especially those in the metal and shred genres that were ubiquitous in the '80s & '90s. Today ESP is a highly regarded manufacturer with multiple product lines aimed at different sections of the market including LTD, Edwards, Navigator and E-II.

Made in Japan in 2008, this instrument features a thru-neck construction comprising a Maple neck, Alder body & 24 fret Ebony fingerboard with small Abalone dot inlays. Black Chrome hardware is fitted including a Gotoh TOM bridge & Gotoh Magnum Lock tuning machines, along with a Bone nut. A single aftermarket EMG GTV Glenn Tipton Vengeance active humbucking pickup has been installed in the bridge position, and is wired to a master volume control.

The Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the Thin 'U' profile providing a smooth and precise playing experience across the register. Whilst certainly on the slimmer side, the neck is not as thin as some other shred-focussed guitars, inspiring a confident grip when chord playing and adding a sense of character to the instrument. The thru-neck construction ensures completely unrestricted access to the upper frets, ensuring that the entire register of the instrument is within easy reach.  The Ebony of the fretboard is luxurious under the fingers, and with its 12" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques, with the X Jumbo frets enhancing the feel of vibrato & string bending techniques.

The single EMG GTV active humbucker installed in the bridge of this guitar delivers a searing output, perfect for the shred and metal genres you would expect from a guitar in this style. This is a signature pickup from EMG & the Judas Priest lead guitarist Glenn Tipton. There is plenty of low end grunt, especially for a bridge pickup. This is balanced perfectly with a sizzling top end which will blast your lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The controls are kept purely functional, with just a master volume. This offers plenty of scope for cleaning up your sound by rolling the volume down whilst not intruding on the playing experience. A typically beautifully made instrument from ESP.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. A mild indentation to the front face is present beside the low E tuner, piercing the finish very slightly. A similar indentation which does not pierce the finish is present at the treble side edge beside the G tuner. Very light scratching to all aspects of the headstock is visible under direct light and close scrutiny, most notably beside the 1st E tuner.

Neck: Overall excellent condition, some very light playwear is apparent to the fingerboard when viewed under direct lighting at certain angles. The satin finish to the rear of the neck has polished to a light gloss through regular use. Any other markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern.

Body: Overall very good condition. High contact points such as the forearm contour and treble side waist have buffed from satin to semi-gloss through regular use. The edges demonstrate consistent light indentation, with a more notable indentation to the rear treble side edge near the output jack piercing and chipping the finish, lightly revealing the wood beneath. All aspects of the body demonstrate very light scratching and indentation visible under direct lighting and close scrutiny.
