Here for sale we have an ESP LTD M-1008MS 8 string multi-scale electric guitar in Natural Satin finish. Made in Korea in 2018, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a MAhogany body with Flamed Maple top, 5pc Maple/Purpleheart neck and 24 fret Macassar Ebony fingerboard. Black hardware is  fitted including a Hipshot string-thru-body bridge and LTD sealed locking tuning machines. A pair of Seymour Duncan passive humbucking pickups are installed, with a Sentient in the neck and Nazgul in the bridge position. These are wired to a 3-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls. 
 
The 5pc Maple/Purpleheart neck plays very well, with the Thin 'U' profile feeling nicely slim and precise across the register for an ergonomic and highly accurate playing experience in all fingerboard positions. The Ebony of the fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers, and with Stainless Steel extra jumbo frets, string bending and vibrato techniques are very well accommodated. Visually striking, the fanned frets are a result of the 25.5"-27" multi-scale length. This improves string tension on the lower strings for a more even feel, whilst also avoiding the need for exceptionally heavy gauge strings. Whilst the fanned frets might look outlandish, many players actually find that they are more ergonomic for fast and precise playing. 
 
Amplified, the pair of Seymour Duncan passive humbucking pickups deliver a thick, heavy & aggressive sound, just as you would expect from a guitar of this style. The Sentient & Nazgul pickups were designed for ESP and feature a slanted design and pole-spacing optimized for the multi-scale design. The Sentient in the neck position is round and powerful, working brilliantly for lead lines and solos. The Nazgul in the bridge is of course brighter and hotter, delivering a saturated distortion tone for searing rhythm parts and riffs. Impressively, the pickups retain clarity and definition even with low-down fast riffing. The addition of a push/pull coil split means that crystalline clean tones can also be achieved easily.
