Here for sale we have an ESP LTD EX-400BD electric guitar in Gloss Black w/Black Nickel Diamond Plate finish. Made in Korea in 2004, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, 3 piece Maple neck and a 22 X-Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. Black hardware is fitted including a GotohGE103B-T tune-o-matic bridge and a Gotoh GE101Z stop bar tailpiece, along with a set of Grover sealed tuning machines. A set of EMG James Hetfield Signature "Het Set" humbuckers have been installed with controls for a 3-way pickup selector, master volume and a master tone.
The 3 piece Maple neck plays very well, with the Thin 'U' profile feeling slender and comfortable in the hand. Certainly, the profile will appeal to fast, technical players thanks to the slim profile and flattened area to the centre for the thumb to rest. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 13.78" radius feels nicely flat and consistent right the way up the register. Paired with the X-Jumbo frets, the fingerboard is well equipped for fast lead lines, vibrato and string bending across the register. The neck heel is slightly sculpted, and in conjunction with the 'X' body design ensures that access to the upper frets is unobstructed.
Amplified, this guitar has a thick low end grunt and sculpted mid range thanks to its pair of EMG Het Set Humbuckers. The humbucker in the bridge position delivers powerful but balanced rock and metal tones with rich upper-midrange harmonic content. The low strings are tight and the high strings scream with harmonics, making it a go-to pickup for hard-hitting crunch rhythms and blazing lead tones. The humbucker in the neck position offers all the soloing clarity you could wish for, with sweet sustain and a warm, full sound that still possesses a clear attack providing a hot output delivering smooth, fluid solo tones under gain, while still being capable of bell-like clean tones.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
