Here for sale we have an Ernie Ball Music Man Kaizen 7 electric guitar in Apollo Black finish. Made in the USA in 2023, this guitar features a brand new design developed by Ernie Ball & Prog metal player Tosin Abasi. Introduced at the Winter NAMM show in 2022, this guitar features a super ergonomic design and player-focussed playability features that make it a real powerhouse for the contemporary metal player. A bolt-on construction is employed, and comprises an Alder body, Roasted Figured Maple neck & 24 fret Ebony fingerboard. Black hardware is fitted including a Music Man Custom multi-scale tremolo bridge with cover & Steinberger Locking Gearless tuning machines. A pair of passive Music Man Custom Wound humbucking pickups are installed, with an HT in the bridge position & an offset Mini humbucker in the neck. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume & master tone controls. 
 
The Roasted Figured Maple neck feels like a surgical instrument in the hand; super precise and comfortable for everything from big stretches, lightning fast lead lines, low-down riffing and huge bends. The multi-scale length ranges from 24.75" on the treble side to 25.5" on the bass. This ensures that string tension is optimal across the range, providing plenty of tension for tight riffing in the low register and lighter tension for easier string bending and lead playing on the treble. Fanned frets are always visually striking, but despite their unorthodox appearance are actually very ergonomic- ensuring clear note separation on the lower strings and speedier playing on the treble side. The Ebony fingerboard features Music Man's 'Infinity Radius'. This is a hybrid radius which is different to conventional compound radii. Flatter on the treble side of the neck and rounder to the bass side, the fingerboard is subtly angled towards the player for clear visibility whilst playing. In conjunction with a highly ergonomic body design, sculpted heel & Stainless Steel frets, this guitar is laser-focussed on providing the ultimate playability. 
 
Amplified, the pair of passive Music Man Custom Wound humbucking pickups deliver clear and precise tones, just as you would expect from such a precision instrument. Clean sounds are rich and shimmering, especially in the bridge position which is nice and bright. The warmth and roundness of the neck  pickup is well suited to lead lines and solos and easily cuts through even the densest of mixes. Both pickups can handle a serious amount of gain, saturating into a rich harmonic distortion as you crank the gain control on the amp. The control layout is restrained, offering comprehensive tonal control without over-complicating things. A striking looking instrument with the specification and precision to back up its outlandish aesthetics, and which will be ready for any gig, recording session or rehearsal you can throw at it.
