Here for sale we have an Epiphone Slash Les Paul Standard in Appetite Amber finish. Made in China in 2021, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with carved Hard Maple cap and AAA Flame Maple veneer, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Laurel fingerboard. The hardware fitted is Chrome, and includes a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Epiphone Deluxe vintage-style tuning machines with Kluson-style 'Tulip' buttons. The pickups installed are a pair of Epiphone Custom ProBucker Alnico 2 humbuckers, which are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, with independent volume and tone controls.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the Slash Custom C-Shape profile working in conjunction with the gloss finish to the rear to provide a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The profile is certainly chunky, but remains slim enough to accommodate the bluesy-rock riffs that Slash has forged his career on. The Laurel fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12" radius provides a nicely flat surface for lead lines and string bending - further enhanced by the medium jumbo frets.
The pair of Epiphone Custom ProBucker Alnico 2 humbuckers installed in this guitar deliver thick and creamy tones that are nicely warm without being too soft. The neck position offers plenty of roundness for solo tones and crystal clear clean sounds, with plenty of punchy mids to help you cut through the mix. The bridge position is nicely bright, and with a high output is perfect for gain-saturated rock rhythm lines. The simple control layout provides comprehensive control of your tone without intruding on the playing experience. A fantastic entry-level signature guitar.
