Here for sale we have an Epiphone Les Paul Special Bass in Pitch Black finish. Made in China in 2008, this bass features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Black hardware is fitted including a 4-saddle speed-loading bridge & sealed tuning machines. A pair of Epiphone 422R passive humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to independent volume controls & a master tone.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a rounded 'C' shape which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning & easy reach across the 34" scale. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth & durable playing surface. With a 12" radius and medium jumbo frets, the neck is well suited to a wide range of playing styles & techniques.
Amplified, the pair of Epiphone 422R passive humbuckers deliver thick & full bodied bass tones, with deep rumbling lows, powerful mids & a sparkly top end which captures all of the attack of your playing. The independent volume controls allow you to blend the two pickups in any combination for a wide range of sounds, whilst the master tone is nicely responsive to small changes. A great workhorse bass.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. A light lacquer crack is present to the rear of the headstock at the G tuning machine. This has been tested and presents no structural concern. Mild scuffing is present to the top rear edge. All aspects of the headstock display light scratching and wear of the satin finish.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck has worn to a light gloss consistent with playwear. Light lateral scratching is present to the fingerboard across the register, these can only be seen under direct light and are not felt in the playing position.
Body: Overall very good condition. Mild scuff marking, scratching and wear of the Satin finish is present to all aspects of the body, most notably to the rear face at the edge of the lower bout and treble side of the pickups.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss Rod Tool (4mm Hex) not included.
Hardware: Overall very good condition with light to mild tarnishing present to all aspects of the metal hardware.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
