Here for sale we have an Epiphone J-200EC Studio Jumbo Acoustic Guitar in Vintage Sunburst finish. Made in Indonesia in 2021, this set-neck constructed guitar consists of a Solid Spruce top, Select Maple back and sides, a Hard Maple neck, and a 20-fret Pau Ferro fingerboard. Other appointments include Gold hardware, a Pau Ferro Moustache bridge, Pearloid Crown inlays, Grover tuners, and a Fishman Presys Preamp and Fishman Sonicore undersaddle pickup. 
 
The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the 1960's SlimTaper D profile that feels slender in the hand whilst retaining the sturdy and robust character you would expect from an Epiphone. The 12" radius lends itself well to chordal playing, whilst remaining practical for fingerstyle in any register, whilst the Rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface under the fingers. The Jumbo body shape with cutaway feels great in the arms, and provides a comfortable playing experience in both standing and seated positions whilst ensuring unobstructed access to the higher frets.
 
The voice of this instrument is rich and well-defined, with a warm yet precise low end, focussed midrange and bright high frequencies. The Solid Spruce top projects well and provides a wide dynamic range that feels sensitive to the player's touch. Playing gently will give you the warm mellow tones needed for those quiet moments, whereas putting some snap and power behind your right hand rewards you with the powerful booming tones this guitar is capable of.

    Aesthetic Condition:

    Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top of the headstock demonstrates some chipping to the rear edge, revealing the wood beneath. Light indentation is apparent to both corners of the top edge. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light scratching visible under direct lighting at certain angles.

    Neck: Overall very good condition, a series of small chips/indentation is apparent between the 1st and 3rd frets on the fingerboard. The binding demonstrates hairline cracks at the fret ends in places. This is common with bound necks and does not affect the structural integrity.

    Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates moderate indentation around the lower bout. This is most consistent to the treble side, with the worst indentation being a deep scratch running behind the bass side of the bridge towards the center of the lower bout. The sides and rear face demonstrate consistent light scratching, visible only under direct lighting.

     

    Condition of Frets:

    The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with some light indentation in the early register. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.

     

    Current Set Up:

    Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

    Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear.

    Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

    Electrics:

    The electrics are non functional. The tuner works but output is very inconsistent, with loud hissing and crackling that cannot be resolved by contact cleaning.
