Here for sale we have a Epiphone G400 Gothic SG in Satin Black finish. Made in China in 2006, this guitar features a set in Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and a 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. The hardware featured on this guitar consists of a tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece as well as a set of Grover tuning machines. The pickups featured are a pair of Epiphone Alnico V humbuckers, these are wired to a 3-way pickup selector, independent volume and tone controls.
The ‘C’ profile neck with Satin finish sits comfortably in the hand, allowing for quick and easy navigation of the neck and ergonomic thumb positioning. The 12" radius provides a nice balance between comfortable chording and practicality for lead lines, whilst the Medium Jumbo frets aid with vibrato techniques. The double cutaways provide excellent access to the upper frets while the contour slim body provides extra comfort in both seated and standing positions.
The pair of Epiphone Alnico V humbuckers sound thick and raw, with a solid output that pushes the front end of an amp nicely. The neck pickup is full, warm with added tightness, the midrange is perfectly balanced and easily cuts through any mix. The bridge pickup produces a biting tone which easily cuts through the mix for those rock rhythm sounds and has a great harmonic register. A versatile guitar that can cover a lot of different styles.
