Fully Setup Ready To Play - Comprehensive Luthier Report - Fast Delivery

Here for sale we have a modified Epiphone EJ200CE in Vintage Sunburst finish. Made in China in 2012, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Spruce top, Maple back and sides, Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching Moustache bridge. This instrument is fitted with Gold Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, along with a Shadow NanoFLEX undersaddle pickup and aftermarket DeArmond Tone Boss magnetic sound hole pickup. These pickups are wired to an E-Sonic on-board preamp with controls for master volume, EQ for each pickup, pickup blend slider, phase reverse & on-board tuner. The DeArmond pickup also has it's own dedicated output.

The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the SlimTaper 'D' profile that feels slender in the hand whilst retaining the sturdy and robust character you would expect from an Epiphone. The 12" radius lends itself well to chordal playing, whilst remaining practical for fingerstyle in any register, whilst the Rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface under the fingers. The Jumbo body shape with cutaway feels great in the arms, and provides a comfortable playing experience in both standing and seated positions whilst ensuring unobstructed access to the higher frets.

The voice of this instrument is rich and well-defined, with a warm yet precise low end, focussed midrange and bright high frequencies. As a Jumbo, there is plenty of volume on offer, making chordal playing sound powerful & clear. The Spruce top projects well and provides a wide dynamic range that feels sensitive to the player's touch. Playing gently will give you the warm mellow tones needed for those quiet moments, whereas putting some snap and power behind your right hand rewards you with the powerful booming tones this guitar is capable of. The on-board electronics deliver plenty of versatility, especially with the addition of the DeArmond pickup which can be used with the original preamp or even in stereo thanks to its dedicated output.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. The bass side of the top rear edge shows a mild indentation which has cracked but not removed the finish. Light scratching to all aspects of the headstock is visible under direct light & close scrutiny, as is common with high gloss finishes.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching is apparent throughout the rear of the neck when viewed under direct light & close scrutiny. These markings are not felt under the thumb and do not impact the overall playability of the instrument. Any other markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern.

Body: Overall excellent condition. Light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable at the pickguard & treble side waist consistent with playwear. Any other markings to the body are difficult to discern.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting is present in the early register, with light flattening throughout. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

    Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Very good condition with light tarnishing to the tuners & fading of the gold finish. The bridge shows indentation near the pins which does not impact functionality.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.75mm - Bass 2mm

Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.

    Strings on Guitar - 11-52

There is light material remaining in the saddle for future adjustments to the action.

    Electrics:

Fully functional. A DeArmond soundhole pickup has been added by a previous owner, and is wired to its own dedicated output. This pickup is also wired to work with the original preamp in place of the NanoMag pickup. The NanoMag pickup has been removed and is not included. The preamp functions as expected.
