Here for sale we have an Epiphone Dobro Hound Dog Deluxe Round Neck Electro Acoustic Resonator in Satin Natural finish. Made in China in 2015, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Flame Maple body with Nickel Plated fan cone Resonator, Mahogany neck and 19 fret Rosewood fingerboard. A Tusq nut is fitted, along with a set of Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, and a Fishman Resonator Pickup.

The Mahogany neck plays well, with a profile which might be described as a moderately sized 'C' shape thanks to the very slightly flattened area to the centre rear. This profile is well suited to a wide range of playing styles and techniques, including slide playing. The Rosewood fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12" radius is practical for both chordal and melodic playing styles. The smooth lines of the body are comfortable in the arms, with a reassuring weight to the body which provides a sense of dependability and substance to the playing experience.

The tone of the Epiphone Dobro Hound Dog Deluxe Round Neck is unmistakably 'resonator', delivering those early blues sounds that we know and love. There is plenty of dynamic range on offer, rewarding gentle picking with a soft and intimate tone, whilst strumming more firmly delivers plenty of power to help you be heard over the rest of the band. The instrument's voice really shines through when playing delta blues styles with a slide, offering an authentic playing experience and tone, with powerful low end and singing mids. The voice is full-bodied, offering a wide and dynamic tonal range which is just as at home as a solo instrument as it is as part of an ensemble. Please see the report for notes on the electrics.
