Here for sale we have a Cort Frank Gambale Luxe electro-acoustic guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in China in 2016, this guitar is a signature model of legendary Australian Jazz Fusion guitarist Frank Gambale. After moving to LA in the early '80s, Frank's career took off- achieving 'Student of the Year' from Guitar Institute of Technology, landing a book deal and playing in many Chick Corea projects both in the studio and on the road. Having released over 20 solo albums to date and featuring in countless guitar magazines, Frank is a highly regarded musician the world over. 
 
A set-neck construction is employed, and comprises a Solid Adirondack Spruce top, Flamed Blackwood back and sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. A Graphtech Black TUSQ saddle and nut are fitted, along with a set of Gold sealed tuning machines. The body is double bound in Tortoiseshell, whilst the top is adorned with a wooden rosette designed by Gambale himself - as was the handsome fingerboard inlay. An LR Baggs EAS-VTC EQ undersaddle piezo pickup system is installed, and is wired to discreet sound hole mounted controls for master volume & tone. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a rather slim profile which might be described as a 'D' shape thanks to the slightly flattened area to the centre rear. Combined with the moderately wide 1.717" nut width, the neck is set up for speedy, accurate playing across the register. The Ebony of the fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers, and with the attractive fingerboard inlay design creates a feeling of exclusivity and class in the playing experience. The florentine cutaway  enhances access to the upper frets, opening up the full register of the instrument.
 
The body design of the Frank Gambale Luxe is closely based on a classical guitar, as stated by Frank in the Cort 2016 brochure. In combination with the Solid Adirondack Spruce top & Flamed Blackwood back and sides, the instrument produces a crisp, clear and well-balanced tone across the frequency register, well suited to a wide range of playing styles & genres. The top projects well, and for a modestly-sized body produces plenty of volume. With the addition of the excellent LR Baggs EAS-VTC EQ system, this tone can be easily recorded or amplified for use in the studio or live.
