Here for sale we have a Commodore N25 in Cherry Sunburst. Made in 1972 in Japan by the iconic Matsumoku factory, this semi-hollow thinline guitar features a bolt-on construction. The bound Rosewood fingerboard features pearl square position markers while the headstock features 3-in-a-line closed gear tuning machines. Other appointments include an adjustable bridge and tremolo arm. A pair of black ‘Staple’ pickups are fitted and wired to independent volume and tone controls and 3-way pickup selector.

The neck plays well, with the ‘D’ profile feeling rather nice and slim in the hand enough for articulate lead lines & solos. This provides a confidence inspiring grip for chord playing as well as easy fretting in any register. The Gloss finish to the rear feels pleasant to the touch and aids easy transitions up and down the neck. The semi-hollow construction makes this guitar easy on the shoulders on long gigs, and the smooth lines of the body ensure comfort in both standing or seated positions.

The pair of ‘Staple’ pickups installed in this guitar deliver bell-like high end and is complemented well by punchy mids and robust low frequencies, with crisp articulation in all positions. The master volume & tone controls allow plenty of scope for shaping your tone without over-complicating things.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light to mild indentation and chipping of the finish is present to all aspects of the headstock, the most apparent of these can be seen to the top edge of the headstock, these have exposed the wood beneath. Light to moderate scratching is present to the front face, the most apparent can be seen surrounding the G tuning machine. The Commodore badge displays wear markings to the finish along with mild oxidation to the pins.

Neck: Overall good condition. The inlays to the fingerboard display slight gaps between the inlay and the wood, the is common with guitars of this age being exposed to temperature changes previously. Mild chipping of the finish can be seen to the the neck heel where neck screws insert, these have exposed the wood beneath. Light chipping of the finish can be seen to the the rear of the neck at the 1st fret, these have not exposed the wood beneath.

Body: Overall good condition. All aspects of the body display light to mild scratching, indentation, chipping of the finish and paint transfer, the most apparent chipping of the finish can be seen to the rear face lower bout edges where the wood has slightly been exposed. The most apparent indentation is present to the tip of the treble side horn, this has exposed the wood beneath. The most apparent pain transfer can be seen to the bass side lower bout edge. Light scratching can be seen to the front face to both sides of the bridge where a previous owner has marked the bridge placement previously, with this light glue residue is present o the treble side of the bridge.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate notable signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register.  There is light material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

    Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Overall good condition. All aspects of the metal hardware display light to mild tarnishing and oxidation, this is common with a guitar of this age with regular past use. A previous owner has applied glue beneath the bridge to stop it from moving around, with this the treble side thumb wheel is missing. The pickup covers display moderate scratching an markings. A screw is missing from the bridge pickup ring.

Structural: The neck displays back bow in the early register, this can not be taken out when adjusting the truss rod, with this the bridge is bottomed out to achieve the lowest action to accommodate for the relief in the neck.
