Made in China in 2022 this acoustic guitar features a Solid African Mahogany dreadnought in Gloss Natural, One Piece Mahogany neck in 50/50 Semi gloss finish and Indian Laurel fingerboard. Other appointments include Nickel Open Gear tuning machines.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the ‘V’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and providing easy fretting and ergonomic thumb positioning in all registers. The Indian Laurel fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers. The Dreadnought body shape is comfortable in the arms, with the all-solid construction ensuring a resonant and lively experience for the player.
The voice of the Alvarez MD60EBG is rich and beautiful, and really lives up to the reputation that this iconic guitar commands. The Solid African Mahogany back and sides provide a silky smooth bass response that remains detailed and accurate across the dynamic range. The mids are punchy and clear, and add a warmth and clarity to the tone. The top end is sparkly and bright, adding a glistening quality to every note played on the instrument. Gentle playing is rewarded with a very tender and soft tone, ramping smoothly up to the rich, loud chord strumming sound that the Dreadnought is renowned for, a truly fantastic example of an iconic instrument.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the headstock.
Neck: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the neck and fingerboard.
Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates moderate indentations towards the bottom edge, piercing the finish slightly. All aspects of the body demonstrate very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.,
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod adjustment tool (4mm hex) not included.
Hardware: Excellent condition.
Structural: This instrument demonstrates an issue with the neck angle, which results in some buzzing around the 16th fret. This instrument has had fret work in the very upper register performed to alleviate the issue, resulting in notably improved playability. the instrument plays well without issue up to the 15th fret, then some slight buzzing at the 16th, returning to good playability beyond the 17th.
