Here for sale we have a Yamaha Pacifica PAC1511MS Mike Stern Signature electric guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in Japan in 2004, this guitar was developed by revered jazz guitarist Mike Stern and Yamaha from his custom made Aronson guitar, which itself was based on a 50's/60's hybrid Telecaster that was stolen from him. The only T-Style Pacifica that Yamaha makes, this instrument features a bolt-on construction comprising an Ash body and one-piece Maple neck and 22 fret fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted, including a 6 saddle Ashtray bridge and vintage-style split-post tuners. A pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers are fitted, with a '59 humbucker in the neck and a Hot Rail humbucker in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls.
The one-piece Maple neck plays very well, with a profile that might be described as a rounded 'C' shape that fills the hand nicely for a substantial grip whilst remaining slim enough for smooth articulate lines. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck is pleasant under the thumb and assists with swift and effortless navigation of the 25.5" scale. The Maple fingerboard provides a smooth and durable playing surface, and with its 7.25"radius delivers a suitable vintage inspired playing experience across the register. Without confirming that the frets are 'jumbo', they certainly feel quite large, which assists with the feel of vibrato and string bending techniques.
The pair of Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, perhaps more akin to a Les Paul than the the Telecaster this guitar is styled after. The neck position is a PAF style pickup that produces an open and detailed sound with plenty of warmth and power for pushing your lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The Hot Rails Humbucker in the bridge is hot, with loads of midrange harmonics and a crunchy tone that is well suited to bluesy rock riffing. Clearly the jazzy tones that Stern is known for are easily achievable too, with a nice dark jazzy tone in the neck with the tone rolled down. A highly versatile and quite rare instrument.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall good condition. The front face displays notable delamination in 2 places which has removed parts of the logo. The tip and treble side edge of the headstock display small indentations and paint transfer.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck shows two indentations behind frets 3 & 4. These can be felt in the playing position. All other aspects of the neck display minimal signs of past use.
Body: Overall very good condition. The front face presents small indentations, most notably to the bass side near the waist where the finish is lighty cracked. A finish crack can be seen near the bass side of the bridge, coming from one of the pickguard screws. The pickguard shows mild scratching consistent with mild playwear. A small indentation which does not pierce the finish is apparent to the rear edge near the jack socket. A small finish crack is apparent to the bass side of the neck pocket. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the structure of the instrument. All faces of the body display light scratching visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
