Here for sale we have a Yamaha Lord Player LP400 Electric Guitar in Sunburst finish. Made in Japan circa. 1986, this guitar consists of an Agathis body, a Maple top, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Tune-o-Matic bridge, a Stopbar tailpiece, upgraded Gotoh tuners, and a set of Yamaha Alnico V Humbuckers. These pickups are wired to two volume controls, two tone controls, and a three-way pickup selector.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with its 'D' feeling profile providing all the 'chunk' and character you would expect from an LP style guitar without being at all cumbersome. The Gloss finish to the rear assists in smooth transitions up and down the neck, whilst the slightly less traditional 13.75" fingerboard radius offers a nicely flat and consistent playing surface right the way up the register. The familiar lines of the LP style body feel as comfortable as ever in the arms, and still retains a traditionally hefty feel.
The Yamaha Alnico V humbucker in the neck position provides the thick and creamy tone that LP style guitars are renowned for. A warm yet detailed low end is complemented by a rich mid range and sweet trebles, with roundness and plenty of sustain for rock solo tones. The Yamaha Alnico V in the bridge is hotter, with a high output and bright glassy tone with clean settings that drives into beautifully saturated harmonic distortion as you crank the gain. The traditional LP control layout offers comprehensive control of your tone without over complicating things.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. A previous owner has sanded the Gloss finish to the front face to a Satin texture, with this light scratching can be seen at close scrutiny. Chipping of the finish can be seen to the top edge of the headstock, this has exposed the wood beneath.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Light to mild scratching can be seen top the higher register to the rear of the neck, this appears to be wear a previous owner has lightly sanded th finish with the most apparent being seen to the 8th/9th frets. Light indentations are scattered throughout the register to the rear of the neck, these can lightly be felt in the playing position. Light glue residue which can only be seen under close scrutiny can be seen to both sides of the binding, this is from a previous fret job.
Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body display light to mild scratching, indentations and markings common with a guitar of this age. The most apparent indentations and scratching can be seen scattered inconsistently to the rear face common with past use. A chip to the finish can be seen to the rear face treble side edge where the wood is exposed.
Condition of Frets:
There is evidence that this guitar has had a previous re-fret to an acceptable standard, with this some of the frets in the higher register display slight lifting but remain secure. With the re-fret all frets have been crowned and polished.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.
Hardware: Overall good condition. A light crack can be seen to both of the pickup rings, these have been tested and are secure. Light to moderate tarnishing can be seen on the bridge, tailpiece and pickup covers, this is consistent with past use on a guitar of this age. The tuning machines have previously been replaced with a set of Gotoh tuning machines, the original tuners are included.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
