Here for sale we have a Yamaha APX500II Electro-Acoustic Guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Yamaha's APX Series was first introduced in 1987 with the aim of making acoustic guitars much more usable in stage settings; reducing the feedback that was inherent at the time without having to use a microphone or endure a lengthy soundcheck. The guitars proved extremely popular, and their APX line soon became one of the best selling electro-acoustic guitars in the world.
This APX500II was made in Indonesia in 2012, and features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Spruce top, Laminated Nato back & sides, Nato neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. A Urea saddle and nut are fitted, along with a Chrome set of sealed tuning machines. A Yamaha undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and is wired to Yamaha's SYSTEM65 on-board preamp with controls for master volume, 3-band EQ, Adjustable Mid Frequency (AMF) slider and on-board tuner.
The neck plays fantastically well, with a profile which might be described as a very soft 'V' shape. This is a highly ergonomic shape which is comfortable for both chordal and melodic playing, and sadly is less common today amongst a sea of 'Low Oval' and 'C' shape necks. The gloss finish to the rear makes for smooth navigation of the 25" scale, and with the generous cutaway ensures that the full register of the instrument is easily accessible. The Rosewood fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with a nicely flat 13.75" radius is practical for a wide range of styles and techniques.
The acoustic voice of the Yamaha APX500II is nicely balanced thanks to its small stature. Similar in size to an OM, the low end is unpronounced yet accurate whilst mids are punchy and clear. The Spruce top provides a bright and sparkling treble response as well as a fast and snappy attack. This tone works equally as well as a solo instrument as it does blending into an ensemble or band. The undersaddle piezo pickup faithfully conveys the acoustic tone of the instrument, adding the versatility required for both live and recording situations.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. The top rear edge demonstrates mild indentation and scuffing. A sticker is present to the centre of the rear face. A light indentation at the treble side front edge lightly cracks the finish beside the B tuner. Light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates consistent light indentation to the early register which cannot be felt under the thumb in playing position. Any markings to the fingerboard are difficult to discern.
Body: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates some staining and a patch of clouded finish to the lower bout which we have been unable to remove. Light indentation and scratching is infrequently apparent to all aspects of the body, visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with some very slight lifting of the frets in the uppermost register. This does not affect playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.
