Here for sale we have a Westone Concord III in Aged Pearl White finish. Made in Japan in 1983 this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Solid Alder body, One-Piece Maple neck with 21 fret Maple fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with a Bone nut, Westone Precise Tuner 1 tuning machines, Brass Roller control knobs and Brass Tremolo tailpiece. A trio of Westone single coils are installed, these are wired to a 5-way toggle switch, master volume, neck tone and middle tone knobs.

The Gloss Maple neck plays very well, with the ‘C’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and promotes ergonomic hand positioning, feeling smooth whilst providing an articulate playing experience. The Maple fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and offers a tactile and durable playing surface. The 9.5" radius delivers practicality for lead lines and string bending. The smooth lines of the body along with generous body contours are as comfortable, ensuring that long gigs and practice sessions are a breeze.

The trio of Super 1 single coil pickups offer a versatile range of tones, with anything from bell-like, shimmery clean tones available, right through to harmonically saturated distortion sounds. The neck pickup is nicely warm, with plenty of thickness for lead lines and solos. Funky tones are present in the middle position whilst the bridge has all the brightness required for country or blues. The control layout is as practical, offering comprehensive control of your sound right on the guitar.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. The tip of the headstock displays a notable chip to the lacquer finish, this exposes the wood beneath. All faces of the headstock display light scratching which is only visible under direct light. The most noticeable of these can be seen to the front face around the Westone logo. The edges of the headstock display light indentations most noticeable to the treble side edge.

Neck: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to the fingerboard, these run throughout the entire register and can only be slightly felt in the playing position. Two small indentations are present to the rear of the neck, these can be seen behind the 2nd fret and the 6th fret towards the treble side, these can be slightly in the playing position.

Body: Overall good condition. Moderate indentations are present to all faces of the body, the most noticeable of these can be seen to the bass side edge near the waist, one of these breaks through the finish exposing the wood beneath where as the rest of the indentations break through the lacquer finish. The rear face of the body displays mild scratching and indentations which both break through the lacquer finish and some break through to the wood beneath. Cracking of the lacquer can be seen either side of the neck pocket, these have been tested and present no structural concerns. The Pearl White finish has aged evenly which is to be expected from a guitar this old.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets show moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is noticeable through the entire register. The action has been raised slightly to accommodate for fret noise. Lowering the action may result in increased buzzing and affect the sustain of notes.

    Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: The truss rod is not functional, with this the string height has been adjusted due to fret buzz (see further notes).

Hardware: Overall very good condition. The metal hardware displays mild tarnishing and oxidation, the most noticeable of these can be seen to the control knobs. Tremolo arm not included.

    Structural: No concerns to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.75mm - Bass 2.25mm

Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.

    Strings on Guitar - 10-46

Due to the truss rod not being functional, the guitar displays mild fret buzz on the low E string from the 12th fret upwards. The high E string demonstrates 'chocking out' of the notes when bending from the 10th fret upwards. The action has been raised to allow the guitar to functional to optimum ability.

    Electrics:

    Fully functional.
