Here for sale we have a Washburn Wl-64 in Ebony finish. Built in Korea in 1999, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with Gold hardware including a Tune-O-Matic bridge and StopBar tailpiece along with Grover tuning machines. The Pickups are a pair of Washburn WB630 humbuckers, wired to a 3-way selector, bridge volume, bridge ‘Voice Contour Control’, neck volume and a neck Voice Contour Control.
The Mahogany neck sits comfortably in the hand, with a profile resembling a ‘D’ feeling slender, providing a smooth and articulate playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth playing surface for the user to explore, along with the 14” radius and Jumbo frets making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze. The lines of the body feel great in the arms, making longer durations of playing a breeze.
The Washburn WB630 humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The Washburn WB630 humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity. The VCC control is a unique coil tapping system that allows players to incrementally blend between a hum bucking sound and a single coil sound without the hum normally associated with single coils, similar to the concept of a dimmer switch but related to the tone of a guitar. Turn the VCC knob up for a traditional humbucker sound; turn it down for the character of a single coil. allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips.
