Here for sale we have a Tornado by Morris AXJ Electro-Acoustic guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in Japan in the 1980s, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Spruce top, Plastic Bowl Back, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. A set of Chrome Gotoh tuning machines are fitted, along with an undersaddle piezo pickup which is wired to a master volume control.
The Mahogany neck plays well, with a moderately-sized profile that might be described as a soft 'V' shape. This promotes ergonomic thumb positioning in any register, and provides a smooth and responsive playing experience across the neck. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 16" radius is practical for a wide range of styles and techniques. The Bowl Back body design feels great in the arms, ensuring comfort in both seated and standing positions.
The tone of the Tornado by Morris AXJ is nicely balanced, offering an unpronounced yet detailed low end, open and clear mid range and nicely bright top end that adds a beautiful sparkle to every note played on the instrument. The compact size of the body provides an intimate sound, with an impressive dynamic range that feels sensitive to the player's touch. The addition of the undersaddle piezo pickup provides the versatility required for both live and recording situations.
