Here for sale we have a stunning Taylor T5z Classic Sassafras in Satin Shaded Edgeburst finish. Made in the USA in 2020, this guitar comes from Taylor's T5 series of hybrid Electric Acoustic guitars which offer the best of both acoustic and electric sounds. This instrument features a semi-hollow construction comprising Sapele back, sides and centre block, Blackheart Sassafras top, bolt-on Mahogany neck and 21 fret West African Crelicam Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. This guitar is fitted with Black hardware including a set of sealed tuning machines. A trio of pickups are installed, with a body sensor, concealed neck humbucker and 'Lipstick' style bridge humbucker. These are wired to a shoulder-mounted 5-way switch, master volume, bass and treble controls. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with Taylor's neck profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial yet articulate grip that allows for comfortable fretting and easy playability in all registers. The single cutaway design and shallow body depth enhance access to the upper frets, meaning you can make use of all 21 frets. The Ebony fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers and reminds you that this is a really premium instrument. The 12" radius is more akin to an electric guitar, facilitating electric-specific techniques such as string bending. The body is nice and slim, feeling very manageable in both standing and seated positions. At a sprightly 5.6lbs, this guitar is nice and light on the shoulder for those long gigs. 
 
The Taylor T5 was designed as a hybrid guitar that offers the best sounds from both acoustic and electric instruments. To achieve this, a body sensor is installed alongside a concealed neck humbucker and 'Lipstick' style bridge humbucker. The 5-way switch offers a range of pickup configurations, with position one delivering a very authentic acoustic tone from the body sensor and neck humbucker. As you move through the positions the tone becomes increasingly 'electric', with single humbucker modes and even series or parallel humbucker modes for a really hot output that is akin to an ES-335. The signature Taylor control pots allow you to dial in your volume, treble and bass. This means you are always in full control of the sound from this very interesting, well-made and unique instrument.
