PRS Custom 22 Grey Black 2004 Electric Guitar
Here for sale we have a PRS Custom 22 electric guitar in Grey Black finish. Made in the USA in 2004, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Carved Flamed Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome/Nickel hardware is equipped, including a 6-point tremolo bridge with block saddles and PRS Locking tuning machines. The pickups installed are a pair of PRS Dragon humbuckers, which are wired to a 5-way rotary switch, master volume and master tone controls. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the 'Wide Fat' profile providing a characterful and vintage-inspired playing experience in all registers without being at all cumbersome. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth and speedy navigation of the 25" scale, whilst the double cutaway body design with the customary PRS sculpted lower horn ensure uninhibited access to the upper frets. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with Abalone ‘Crescent Moon’ inlays adding a sense of luxury to the playing experience. The 10" radius strikes a perfect balance between comfortable chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending techniques. 
 
The pair of PRS Dragon II humbucking pickups installed in this guitar are clear, articulate and bold sounding. These medium output humbuckers deliver a refined vintage-style tone that will sit well within a wide range of genres and musical situations. Wired to a 5-way rotary pickup selector, there are a vast array of tones close to hand. Split coil sounds are available in the in-between positions (2 and 4) and your usual humbucking options in positions 1, 3 and 5. Whether you’re after jazzy cleans, bluesy mid-gain or roaring heavy tones, the PRS Custom 22 does it all in style with a truly stunning Flamed Maple top and Whale Blue finish.

    Aesthetic Condition:

    Overall good condition, all aspects of the headstock demonstrate mild to moderate scratching, indentation, and chipping. This is most notable to the top bass side corner where multiple instances of chipping reveal the wood beneath. 

    Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates moderate indentation throughout the register. This is most notable to the middle register behind the 7th fret. It is difficult to discern any markings to the fingerboard against the natural grain. 

    Overall good condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate mild to moderate scratching and indentation. The bass side horn, bottom front edge, beside the controls, and bass side lower bout all demonstrate indentation causing light delamination of the finish. Between the pickups to the treble side of the guitar, noticeable scratching has indented the finish. The rear face demonstrates notable buckle rash, not piercing the finish. The rear edge demonstrates a small chip to the finish revealing the wood beneath.

     

    Condition of Frets:

    This guitar has had a fret level and re-crown to ensure the best playability. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform 

     

    Current Set Up:

    Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.

    Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear. Notable wearing of the plating and oxidation is apparent to the bass side saddles. Tremolo arm is included.

    Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

    Height of string from 12th Fret- Treble 1.5mm - Bass 2mm

    Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. 

     

    This guitar has been adjusted for light pick action. If you use an aggressive attack it may be necessary to raise the bridge slightly to eliminate string rattle.
