Here for sale we have a Michael Messer Blues '28 Resonator Electro Acoustic Guitar in Sunburst finish. Made in China, a set-neck construction is employed, and comprises a 1920s Style Laminate Wood body, Mahogany neck and 19 fret Blackwood fingerboard. A spun Aluminium cone is featured along with a Maple biscuit bridge and vintage-style 3-on-a-strip tuners. All Michael Messer guitars are made in China, and the final set up and quality checks are made in the UK at Dave King Acoustics.

The Mahogany neck plays well, with a profile which might be described as a fairly wide 'D' shape. Whilst clearly aimed at the slide player, the profile is well suited to a wide range of playing styles and techniques. The Blackwood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 16" radius is practical for both chordal and melodic playing styles. The smooth lines of the body are comfortable in the arms, with a reassuring weight to the body which provides a sense of dependability and substance to the playing experience.

The tone of the Michael Messer Blues '28 Resonator is unmistakably 'resonator', delivering those early blues sounds that we know and love. There is plenty of dynamic range on offer, rewarding gentle picking with a soft and intimate tone, whilst strumming more firmly delivers plenty of power to help you be heard over the rest of the band. The instrument's voice really shines through when playing delta blues styles with a slide, offering an authentic playing experience and tone, with powerful low end and singing mids. The voice is full-bodied, offering a wide and dynamic tonal range which is just as at home as a solo instrument as it is as part of an ensemble. The addition of the Schatten NR-2 Biscuit Bridge pickup allows you to faithfully amplify the iconic resonator sound of the Blues '28, and is a welcome option for this guitar.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
