Here for sale we have a Jackson DK2 Dinky electric guitar in Pile O’ Skulls finish. Made in Japan in 2005, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Rock Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard with Sharkfin inlays. Black hardware is fitted including a JT580 DP double-locking tremolo system and sealed Jackson tuning machines. A trio of Seymour Duncan pickups are installed in an HSS configuration, with a TB-4 JB humbucker in the bridge and STK-1 Classic Stack single-coils in the neck and middle positions. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls.
The Rock Maple plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a thin 'D' shape which offers razor sharp and precise playing experience in all registers. A slightly flattened area to the centre rear encourages ergonomic thumb positioning for fast playing, whilst the compound fingerboard radius ensures that the neck is tailored to the needs of the player in all fingerboard positions; rounder for chords in the lower register and flatter for lead playing in the top frets. The generous double cutaway body design enhances access to the upper register, with a sculpted lower horn and neck joint ensuring that even large-handed players can solo with ease.
Amplified, the trio of Seymour Duncan pickups installed in this guitar deliver a wide range of full-bodied and heavy tones, perfect for a multitude of genres and playing styles. The TB-4 JB in the bridge produces a searing output which can easily drive your amp into a saturated distortion tone; great for rock and metal riffing and rhythm parts. The STK-1 Classic Stack single-coils in the neck and middle positions can be thought of as stacked humbuckers, using one of the coils to eliminate the 60-cycle hum often associated with single-coils. Their tone is crystal clear and precise, working equally well for articulate lead lines and strummed clean sounds. A typically great playing instrument from Jackson in a unique and rather rare finish.
