Hohner B2A Headless Black Electric Bass Guitar
Here for sale we have a Hohner B2A Headless bass in black finish. Made in Korea this guitar features a set neck construction comprising a Maple body, a Maple neck and a Rosewood fingerboard. Featured on this instrument is a Steinberger DB system tuning system. The pickups featured in this guitar consist of twoHohner EMG pickups, these are wired to two Volumes, Stacked Active Bass/Treble Boost and a Active/Passive Switch
 
The ‘C’ profile neck sits comfortably in the hand, the gloss finish to the back of the neck provides a smooth and effortless affair when navigating the neck. The 15” radius Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers when playing, and assists with fluid transitions. The small body design offers great comfort in both seated and standing positions with its lightweight and uninhibited access to the higher register, making lead lines effortless and welcoming to a wide range of styles. 
 
The two EMG pickups produce a thick and powerful tone. There are of course plenty of deep, rumbling lows which will fill out the band mix, whilst the punchy mids and sparkling top end help to create a driving sound and sense of urgency by capturing the attack of your playing. The on-board controls offer comprehensive tonal opportunities whilst maintaining a simple and non-intrusive character on the playing experience.

    Aesthetic Condition:

    Headstock: N/A

    Neck: Overall very good condition. A previous owner has sanded the rear of the neck to a satin finish which has slowly worn to a gloss, with this very light scratching is present upon closer inspection, these can not be felt in the playing position. Two indentations are present to the rear of the neck, these can be seen at both the 4th and 8th frets, these can lightly be felt in the playing position.

    Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body display light to mild scratching is present to all faces of the body, these are most apparent to the bass side edge and to the bass side of the front face, these can only be seen under direct light as is common with high gloss finishes. Light paint transfer can be seen to the treble side shoulder.

     

    Condition of Frets:

    The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register.  There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

     

    Current Set Up:

    Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. No truss rod tool included (hex 5mm)

    Hardware: Overall very good condition. Light tarnishing is present to the bridge saddles, this is common with regular use in high contact areas. The gold Hohner logo on the pickup covers have worn away due to past regular use. A mild indentation is present to the neck pickup cover, this is consistent with the low E string making contact from previous use. Light scratching of the finish is present to the string slot mechanism at the top of the neck.

    Structural: The neck has pulled forward over the years due to continued string tension. This causes a raised action and light fret noise in the upper register.

     

    Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.75mm
