Here for sale we have a Gold Tone PBS Paul Beard Signature Square Neck Resonator in Tobacco Sunburst finish. Made in the USA this guitar features a set neck construction comprising a Mahogany neck, Laminated Mahogany back and Sides and a Laminated Mahogany top. This guitar features a Square Neck profile that is aimed at Lap Steel and slide players; perfect for country, blues and Hawaiian genres, or even just adding a unique new sound to your latest recording.

The Mahogany square neck is designed for the guitar to be placed on the player's lap, with the neck being thicker near the body to help keep the guitar in place when being played, whilst the  body is small and easily manageable. The 13mm string height is perfect for slide playing and provides an effortless playing experience without any of the compromises often found when playing slide on a traditional guitar. The nut width at 1.922” keeps things feeling precise thanks to a relatively wide string spacing. This allows you to pick each string with ease, even in the rather unconventional playing position that this instrument requires.

Resonator guitars work by transferring the vibrations from the strings through the bridge and to a metal cone located within the body of the guitar. The Beard "Open" Soundwell body design utilises a genuine USA beard cone and spider bridge which enhances the volume and breathiness of the tone significantly. The Gold Tone’s voice really shines through when playing delta blues styles with a slide, offering an authentic playing experience and tone, with powerful low end and singing mids. The voice is full-bodied, offering a wide and dynamic tonal range which is just as at home as a solo instrument as it is as part of an ensemble.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
