Here for sale we have a Gibson SG Standard 61’ left handed electric guitar in Gloss Cherry. Made in the USA in 2022 this guitar features a set-neck construction consisting of a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Gibson Deluxe tuning machines. A pair of 60’s Burstbucker pickups are fitted and wired to a 3-way pickup selector and independent volume and tone controls.
The Mahogany neck plays fantastically, with the SlimTaper profile feeling nicely slender in the hand and offering a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. The profile could perhaps be described as a 'D' shape, with a slightly flattened area to the centre rear which encourages ergonomic thumb positioning in all registers and ensures easy reach across the fingerboard. There is no question that the top frets are much more easily accessible than on a Les Paul, with the slim neck heel and double-cutaway design opening up the full register of the instrument. Traditional 12" fingerboard radius is paired with medium jumbo frets to provide a playing surface which is comfortable and practical for a wide range of styles and techniques.
The pair of Burstbuckers installed in this guitar are well regarded by Gibson players for their versatility. Whilst the hard rock tones you would expect from an SG are clearly present, the pickups also offer a nice smooth and rounded tone that is suitable for a wide range of styles. Country and Blues players will like the bite of bridge pickup, whilst the warmth of the neck position can be appropriate for jazzy sounds, especially when rolling down the tone control. Independent volume and tone pots offer comprehensive control of your sound.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates consistent light scratching causing a slight hazing of the finish under direct lighting at certain angles.
Neck: Overall very good condition, the fingerboard demonstrates several areas of tooling marks and scratching. This is most notable in the upper register and just in front of the nut. The upper register demonstrates further indentation either side of the fret.
Body: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates consistent light indentation and scratching across the lower bout, occasionally piercing the finish. The bottom edge demonstrates similar markings, with one near the strap stud piercing the finish slightly. All aspects of the body demonstrate very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.
Condition of Frets:
The frets in the upper register have been filed flatter than the rest, likely as an attempt to introduce fall-away in the upper register. This does not affect playability. There is a small amount of material remaining in the upper register. Frets 1-15 demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability, with considerable material remaining for future fret work.
