Here for sale we have a Gibson SG Special in Blue Teal Flip Flop finish. Made in the USA in 2001, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body and Mahogany neck with 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Chrome Tune-O-Matic bridge and a StopBar tailpiece along with a set of Grover tuning machines. A pair of Gibson 61 PAF burstbuckers are installed, these are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume and tone controls.
The Mahogany neck plays well, with what could be described as a rather chunky 'D' profile that fills the hand nicely without feeling at all cumbersome. The open-pore Satin finish to the rear of the neck is very pleasant to the touch, and assists with smooth transitions up and down the register. The traditional 12" fingerboard radius feels as flat and consistent as ever, offering comfortable playability right the way up the neck. The familiar twin horns of the SG body provide uninhibited access to the upper frets, whilst the contoured edges of the body ensure that it sits snugly in the arms for a comfortable playing experience.
The pair of Gibson humbuckers in this guitar are well regarded by Gibson players for their versatility. Whilst the hard rock tones you would expect from an SG are clearly present, the pickups offer a nice smooth and rounded tone that is suitable for a wide range of styles. Country and Blues players will like the bite of bridge pickup, whilst the warmth of the neck position can be appropriate for jazzy sounds, especially when rolling down the tone control. Independent volume and tone pots offer comprehensive control of your sound, making this a real workhorse instrument that matches the versatility of the musician.
Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

The perimeter of the headstock demonstrates consistent indentation, most notably to the top corners which chips the finish revealing the wood beneath. The rear of the headstock demonstrates screw holes from the previous Gibson Deluxe Tuners with some chipping of the finish.
Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates very light scratching and indentation which cannot be felt under the thumb in playing position. Similar markings can be identified to the fingerboard under close inspection. Cracking of the lacquer finish is present to both sides of the neck where the fingerboard and neck meet, these run across the entire length of the neck and can be felt under the fingers.
Overall good condition, the front face demonstrates several notable indentations and chips to the finish, revealing the wood beneath. This continues across all aspects of the body to a lesser degree. There is some staining to the finish on the center of the rear, leaving the outline of a guitar stand. Surrounding the strap studs is some staining from the strap previously used. Cracking to the finish is apparent to the rear by the top strap button.
Condition of Frets:
The frets show moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is noticeable through the early register. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
