Here for sale we have a Gibson Melody Maker in Satin White finish. Built in the USA in 2010 this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with an adjustable wraparound bridge and a set of Gibson Deluxe tuning machines. The pickup installed is a Gibson Single-coil which is wired to a master volume and master tone control.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the Rounded profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck is very pleasant to the touch, and assists with smooth transitions up and down the neck, whilst the traditional 12" fingerboard radius feels as flat and consistent as ever, offering comfortable playability right the way up the neck. The single body cutaway aids in access to the higher frets, whilst the lightweight body design makes longer durations of playing a breeze.

The solitary Gibson Single-Coil pickup installed in this guitar delivers a raw and throaty tone, with a warm low end and driving midrange that is complimented well by crisp and cutting highs. When turning the tone control down the pickup produces a roundness not dissimilar to a neck pickup which is perfect for solo tones, whilst adjusting the tone control up the brightness of the pickup will put your rhythm playing front and centre in the mix. The pickup is fantastic for pushing the front end of an amplifier, whilst offering excellent dynamic control. The simple control layout is not intrusive to the playing experience and offers comprehensive control of your tone. The volume and tone pots are highly interactive, responding very well to subtle changes.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates light scuffing to the edges, not piercing the finish. Some light chipping of the finish can be identified to the treble side rear corner, revealing the wood beneath.

Neck: Overall very good condition. At the joint between the neck and body, a finish crack is apparent. This runs from bass side of the neck joint to the middle of the heel and has been tested to ensure it does not pose any structural concern and is purely cosmetic. The rear of the neck demonstrates some light scratching behind the 10th fret which can be slightly felt beneath the thumb but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. The fingerboard demonstrates some filling of the pores leaving them a contrasting white colour on the bass side between 13-17th frets. We have been unable to remove this through regular cleaning. This cannot be felt beneath the string and is purely cosmetic.

Body: Overall good condition. Light to moderate indentation can be identified in several places across the body, most consistent along the lower bout, front and rear edges and rear of the cutaway. Some of these indentations pierce the finish slightly revealing the wood beneath, most notably to the treble side waist. The rear bass side lower bout edge demonstrates wear of the finish revealing the wood beneath, approximately 5 inches in length. The rear face demonstrates a moderate indentation to the centre, piercing the finish slightly.

    Condition of Frets:

Overall excellent condition. The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with minor indentation in the first few frets on the treble side, not affecting playability. Plenty of material left for any future fret work.
