Here for sale we have a Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster in Copper Age finish. Van Leeuwen has been a member of Queens of the Stone Age since 2002, and has lent his innovative guitar playing to five of the bands' albums, shaping their sound and helping them reach the legendary status they enjoy today. Historically secretive about his rig & set up, this signature is the only model ever released with his name on it. 
 
Made in Mexico in 2021, Fender developed this guitar alongside the Queens of the Stone Age guitar player. This instrument features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 21 fret Maple fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted, including a Jazzmaster bridge and Vintage-Style 'Floating' tremolo tailpiece, as well as Nickel plated Vintage-Style split post tuning machines. The pickups are a pair of Fender Pure Vintage '65 Jazzmaster Single Coils, which are wired to the standard Jazzmaster controls.
 
The Maple neck plays very well, with the  ‘C’ shape profile filling the hand nicely for an authentically vintage-inspired yet articulate playing experience across the register. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale, and along with the offset body design and generous cutaway ensuring that the full 21 fret range of the instrument is easily accessible. The offset body is supremely comfortable in both standing and seated positions, and allows for convenient placement of the extensive controls, ensuring that everything is within easy reach without being intrusive to the playing experience. The block inlays and neck binding add a sense of luxury and exclusivity to the instrument which is very inspiring. 
 
This guitar has been fitted with two Fender Pure Vintage '65 Jazzmaster single coil pickups,  which really add to the guitar's vintage flavour. The tone is bright and nicely refined- quintessential '60s Jazzmaster tone. There are glassy cleans and a crisp high-end which deliver all of the Jazzmaster 'jangle' that you could wish for. On the lead circuit, the neck pickup is warm and round whilst remaining clear. The bridge pickup is of course brighter, capturing all the 'snap' and attack of your playing without sounding brittle. The rhythm circuit provides a darker tone, making this a very versatile instrument that works well in a variety of musical settings. Perfect for fans of Van Leeuwen or anyone looking for a distinctive and well-appointed Jazzmaster.
